Fresh Faces: Morton College Panthers

JucoJunction took in three jamborees in the past four days throughout the Midwest. This past Monday, JucoJunction was at Illinois Valley Community College in Oglesby, IL. JucoJunction had a chance to see 16 teams all in Columbus Day Jamboree at IVCC. The Morton College Panthers from Cicero,IL are coached by veteran coach Frank Lollino, Jr.
The Panthers are led from the point guard position by Xavier Patterson, (SO) 5-foot-9 (175). Patterson played at Chicago Crane High School with current Kanasas Jayhawk guard Sherron Collins. Xavier led the Region IV last season with 7 assists a game to go along with 7 ppg. Xavier is a true left-handed point guard who can really lead a team. Xavier is a solid floor general on the floor and he is very crafty when it comes to finding his teammates with crisp passes.

Dorian Tyler, (FR) 6-foot-8 (190) from Chicago, IL, attended Marshall High School in the Public League. Tyler is an academic qualifier and can leave Morton College after one year and have three years at the next level. Tyler, a combo forward, played some AAU ball with the Illinois Warriors. Dorian is a slender forward who can really rebound the ball well and can knockdown the 6 footer in the paint.
Jerome Robinson, (FR) 6-foot-6 (210) from Chicago, IL, attended St Patrick's High School. Robinson is a very active left-handed forward. Jerome really can fill the lane in transition and has a great nose for the ball.
Look for the Morton College Panthers to surprise some teams in Northern Illinois with the likes of South Suburban College, Triton College and Waubonsee College. Morton College is a Division Two program.
