From NY to California to Texas

6 foot 5 Moses Gonzalez at Ventura CA Junior College has decided to attend the University of Texas El Paso next season. He is rated the #7 junior college wing forward in the country by Lindy's preseason magazine, and is also a preseason Junior College All-American by Street & Smith's. Ventura College was ranked fifth in Street & Smith's preseason top-25 junior college poll.
A native of The Bronx, N.Y., Gonzalez was a member of Ventura's 2003-04 team that was 23-6 and ranked ninth in the state of California. He averaged 19.9 points, 7.0 rebounds, 1.4 assists and 1.1 steals while shooting 59 percent from the field, 35 percent from three-point range and 75 percent from the line. He was a first team All-State honoree a year ago, as well as MVP of the Western State Conference.

Gonzalez attended Walton High School in The Bronx, averaging 20 points as a prep senior. He is of Cuban and Puerto Rican descent.
"Moses is an experienced player who comes from a great program," Sadler said. "He is going to bring a winning mentality and has the physical ability to contribute immediately at this level."
In November at the Oxnard Tournament (Condor Classic) the Pirates placed 2nd and Gonzales was selected to the All-Tournament Team.
