Des Moines Area Community College Head Coach BJ McGinn informed JucoJunction today that Nevada, Charlotte, Idaho, Eastern Michigan University and Eastern Illinois University have all shown interest in Asencio is fall.
"Robert is a manchild in the post and is physically gifted," said JucoJunction Publisher Bret Swanson.
Asencio averaged 2.1 points and 2.6 rebounds per game last season for the 25-8 Bears.
Trey Russell is an all-conference performer player in the post for the Bears. The Naperville, Ill. product averaged 8.6 points and 5.1 rebounds per game last season. He shot 55 percent (99-179) from the field.
Russell has received some early interest from Eastern Illinois University according to McGinn.
