Generals are coming

Region 9 comes down to the wire every season. One program in the region has some sophomores on the roster receiving some early interest in college recruitment. Read more about these players right here on your source for junior college basketball recruiting news JucoJunction.
Sheridan College Head Coach Steve Smiley informed JucoJunction on some of his players recruitment today. The Generals are looking to improve on last year's 25-7 record and take that next step to the NJCAA National Tourney in Hutchinson, Kan.
The Generals will look for more production out of Columbia, Mary. native Brandon Pines. The power forward
played at Charis Prep in Wilson, N.C. before heading to junior college. Pines averaged 4.6 points and 2.3 rebounds last season for the Generals.
"Brandon is pretty lite on his feet and quite agile and has the ability to put the ball on the deck on the deck for
his size," said JucoJunction Publisher Bret Swanson. Pines has received calls from Western Illinois, Fairleigh Dickinson, Niagara and UNC Greensboro this fall according to Smiley.
Isaac Oeltjen played in just 10 games last season before getting hurt. The third year player started his career at Boise State University. Idaho and Texas-Arlington have called on him this fall according to Smiley.
Victor Bermudez returns to the roster this season after averaging 7.6 points and 3 rebounds per game last season on 40 percent (49-122) shooting from 3-point range. The North Las Vegas native plays the shooting guard position.
