Georgia lands NW Florida shooter

The University of Georgia continues to pick up momentum on the 2010 recruiting trail as the Bulldogs have received a commitment from juco transfer Sherrard Brantley on Wednesday night. Brantley has chosen the Dawgs over offers from LSU and Creighton.
"Sherrard Brantley just committed to University of Georgia. Happy to finally get done with this stuff. Thanks to everybody who keeping up with me," Brantley said via his Facebook account.

UGASports confirmed his commitment with other sources as numerous attempts to reach Brantley throughout the day were unsuccessful.
The six-foot-two point guard is currently enrolled at Northwest Florida Community College. Since he was a full qualifier out of high school, he will have three years to play at Georgia.
Brantley just left the Georgia campus yesterday. He told UGASports Wednesday afternoon on his way home that the visit "Went pretty good. We did a lot of talking, walked around campus, hung out with the players and watched TV. We were just kicking it and having fun."
Brantley becomes the third member of the Bulldogs 2010 class joining signees Cady Lalanne and Donte Williams, who committed Tuesday night.
Brantley gives the Dawgs a big-time shooter to help them replace the loss of Ricky McPhee.
"They want me to come in and be a two-guard for them and be a shooter and do a lot of different things. They see me as strictly a two-guard," Brantley said yesterday.
