Gila Monster finds a school

Eastern Arizona College is off to a (2-0) start this season under head coach Maurice Leitzke. The Gila Monsters have now one player ready to sign this coming week on the dotted line with a NCAA Division One school for next season. Dazmond Starke will take his game to Conference USA and the University of Texas El Paso (UTEP). The Richmond, V.A. native will suit up for the Miners starting in 2010-2011 and will have two years to play.

The power forward sat out last season after playing for the Gila Monsters in 2008-2009. Starke averaged 19.3 ppg and 8.4 rebounds as a freshman while shooting 62.5 percent (254-406) from the floor.

"Dazmond has great hands in the post with a good skill level who can knockdown a midrange jumper," said JucoJunction Publisher Bret Swanson.
