"Oklahoma signed him when he was 17 years old, and he wants to prove to himself and Oklahoma that he can play," Watson said. "He will probably play three different positions for us, and he is ready to go to work."
A native of Burkburnett, Tex., Gipson spent two years at Oklahoma. He red-shirted as a freshman in 2001-2002, and then appeared in 18 games for the Sooners in 2002-2003.
As a red-shirt freshman this past season, Gipson logged five minutes per contest, averaging 1.7 points and one rebound per outing.
After playing the 2003-2004 season at North Idaho, Gipson will have two years of eligibility at the Division I level.
We'll keep you posted on his play and recruitment this winter, so stay tuned.
