Globe Tech prospect stays out East
Darren Townes, (SO) 6-foot-7, 210-pound power forward from Globe Tech Institute in New York City has made a verbal commitment to Hofstra for next season.
Townes played his freshman season at Polk Community College in Florida.

"Darren brings a lot of energy and hard work to the floor. He is such a positive kid that brings it everyday in practice and in games with his intensity," said Head Coach Ken Wilcox.
Townes will also hit the the offensive glass.
Darren averaged 9.6 ppg and 9.5 rebounds this season for Globe Tech, which finished 24-4 on the season. We will have more on Globe Tech players in the near future.
