Gloucester County ready for tourney time

Gloucester County College from Sewall, NJ is heading off to Delhi, NY this week for the second straight season at the NJCAA D3 National tourney. The Roadrunners (23-9) are led by Head coach Ricky Jackson who has been the head coach for six years while being at the school 10 seasons. Coach Jackson took sometime to catch up with JucoJunction today about his players.
Kyle Wakefield: (SO) 6-foot-3 (175) from Cape May Court House, NJ. The left-handed two guard is an All-Region for the past two seasons. Wakefield prepped at Laurinburg Institute (NC) back in 2004-2005 on Mike Hadley's team.

"Kyle is an old school two guard that plays within his game," said Jackson.
Wakefield is averaging 13.6 ppg on the season for the Roadrunners. Gardner-Webb, St. Peter's, Binghamton, UM-Baltimore County, Montevallo (AL) and Bridgeport (CT) are calling on Kyle.
Antraye Miles[: (SO) 6-foot-0 (165) from Sicklerville, NJ. Miles sat out last season at GCC. Antraye averaged 11 ppg back in 2004-2005.
"Antraye is very coachable on the floor, he just doesn't know how good he can really be at this game," said Jackson.
The starting point guard is averaging 14.5 ppg and 7.5 assists this season. Miles will not graduate from school so he is hearing from a host of D2/NAIA schools.
Tim Smith: (SO) 6-foot-1 (170) from Glassburg, NJ. The sophomore point guard will have three years at the next level after this season. Smith attended North Carolina A&T last season as a fulltime student but never played.
"Tim was the MVP of the Region Tourney. Tim has great bloodlines is father played at Penn back in the day," said Jackson.
The 3.8 GPA business major can really defend on the ball. Tim is averaging 8 ppg and 4 assists this season.
Stephen McMillan: (SO) 6-foot-5 (285) from Raleigh, NC. The undersized post played at Seminole CC (FL) last season. Stephen averaged 6.2 ppg and 7.1 rebounds as a freshman last season. McMillan recently scored 17 pts and registered 19 rebounds versus Ocean CC in the Region Tourney. Stephen is averaging 7 ppg and 7 rebounds this season for the Roadrunners. University of Maryland Eastern Shore has shown some interest in him this spring. McMillan prepped at Laurinburg Institute under Kenneth Gordon.
Norman Primus, (FR) 6-foot-3 (185), and Jermaine Russel,l (FR) 6-foot-2 (182) are also players to watch for at GCC. Primus hails from Raleigh, NC. The small forward has a solid frame and very long arms. Russell attended Cape May Tech HS in New Jersey and is an athletic-slasher type of player.
