JucoJunction was in Kansas City, Mo. while on its way over to Rick Ball's Jamboree on the campus of Central Missouri State University in Warrensburg, Mo. JucoJunction took in all the action yesterday at ACCAC Jamboree on the campus of Phoenix College. Arizona Western College is coming off a 26-6 last season under head coach Charles Harral. The Matadors return some good sophomores this season to help them try to make a run to the NJCAA National Tourney in March to Hutchinson, Kan.

Aaseem Dixon and Marvin Whitt will lead the action for the Matadors in the back court this season. Dixon averaged 10.4 points, 5.7 rebounds and 2.8 assists per game last season for the Matadors. Dixon a very strong slashing combo guard hails from Las Vegas, Nev.
Dixon is receiving some early interest from Northern Arizona University and Portland State according to Harral.
Whitt a point guard from Birmingham,AL is the leading returner in scoring at 12.9 points, 5 rebounds and 3 assists per game last season. "Marvin is a very heady point guard who keeps the ball really low to the floor and has great body control," said JucoJunction Publisher Bret Swanson
Tanner Clayton transferred into Arizona Western College after attending the University of Southern California in the fall of 2010. Clayton played volleyball for the Trojans. "Tanner is very light on his feet and can knockdown the 12 foot jump shot," said Swanson.
Power forward Dalvin Brown is a promising freshman for the Matadors. The 6-foot-8-inch 270 pound post man attended high school in Phoenix, Ariz. at North High School. The Matadors have some solid pieces to make a strong run into the season.
