Gonzalez: Two Down, Two to Go

Oswaldo Gonzalez, the skilled 6-9, 230 pound power forward/center from Jacksonville J.C. in Jacksonville, Tex., has taken two official visits and has two more planned this spring.
Jacksonville Head Coach Brandon Curran told JUCO Junction that Gonzalez has already completed official visits to Tulsa (3/28-30) and the College of Charleston (4/11-13).

He will take his final official visits to New Mexico State (Apr. 18-20) and South Alabama (Apr. 25-26) over the next two weekends.
A native of Caracas, Venezuela, Gonzalez averaged 9.8 points and 5.9 rebounds for the Jaguars in 2002-2003.
"He's a good athletic rebounder and shot blocker who can score in the post," Curran said. "He has both a lefty and righty jump hook and good footwork."
While Gonzalez has come a long way in his two years at Jacksonville, there's still facets of his game that he needs to improve.
"He must do a better job of sealing people in the lane," Curran said. "He also needs to develop a short to midrange game, because everything he scores is right around the basket."
Gonzalez is expected to make a spring decision, and we'll keep you posted on his situation as his visits wrap up.
