The game of basketball comes down to great coaching, solid recruiting and good relationships to land players. One player from the Midwest of Southern Illinois will take his game to the Missouri Valley Conference this coming fall. "Corbin Thomas has signed with Missouri State," said Southwestern Illinois College Head Coach Jay Harrington. Thomas was a first all-region performer for the Blue Storm this past season. Thomas saw interest from Troy, Valparaiso and Evansville this spring before deciding on the Bears.

Missouri State University Head Coach Paul Lusk worked for coach Harrington at Belleville Area Community College while current Bears assistant coach Kyle Smithpeters competed against Harrington the past four seasons while John A Logan College in Region 24.
"Corbin is a strong rugged power forward who can finish on contact," said JucoJunction Publisher Bret Swanson.
The Dolton, I.L. native averaged 14.2 points and 7.3 rebounds per game for the Blue Storm. His efforts helped him receive 3rd Team All American Honors.
