Goodell Put Up Big Numbers for Snow

Troy Goodell, a resourceful 6-7, 210 pound power forward from Snow J.C. in Ephraim, Ut., put up very respectable numbers this winter for the Badgers.
Goodell was one of the leading scorers and rebounders this season in the perenially strong Scenic West Athletic Conference. In fact, he averaged 16.9 points and 8.8 rebounds in leading Snow to a fourth place finish in a nine-team league. He shot 51 percent from the field and 77 percent from the free throw line.

Even though he's not what you would call a run/jump athlete, Goodell is a crafty scorer with a good all-around offensive game. He utilizes fakes to get defenders off their feet, and has the ability to finish plays on contact. Goodell can also put the ball on the deck for two or three dribbles and get to the basket effectively.
Goodell can also spot up from the wing and knock down the occasional jumper, but the real strength of his game is around the basket and in the paint. He has a knack for finding loose balls despite not being a great athlete or a gazelle.
Snow Head Coach Jon Judkins told JUCO Junction that Goodell has been offered a scholarship by Albany (NY). In fact, Albany Head Coach Will Brown was in attendance at Goodell's game last Wednesday, March 5.
Others who have shown interest in Goodell include Weber State, Eastern Washington and Southern Utah.
Goodell plans on making a spring decision, and JUCO Junction will keep you posted on any new wrinkles with his recruitment. Stay tuned!
