Goodman, Atwood set to visit ASU

Former Rivals150 recruit Savon Goodman is one of two junior college forwards with official visits scheduled with Arizona State this month.
Goodman, a 6-foot-6, 215 pound combo forward, is sitting out the year at Indian Hills Community College after playing at UNLV as a freshman during the 2012-13 season.

Goodman told ASUDevils.com he will visit ASU next weekend and decided between the Sun Devils and Oklahoma, which he is visiting this weekend.
ASU is also scheduled to host Willie Atwood, a 6-foot-8 power forward at Connors State in Warner, Okla., during the weekend of April 11.
Beyond providing details on his visit schedule and the two schools under consideration, Goodman elected not to comment on more specifics of his recruitment or the details surrounding his transfer from UNLV is October of 2013.
The No. 72 overall recruit in the 2012 class, Goodman signed with UNLV after being earlier committed to Villanova and averaged 3.6 points and 2.4 rebounds in about nine minutes of action as a true freshman.
In October of last year Goodman left UNLV after being suspended for the season by coach Dave Rice following an arrest. He later plead guilty to misdemeanor petty theft and trespassing.
Goodman, who developed a reputation as a bruising rebounder and defender in high school and AAU basketball and also for rim-rattling dunks, has three years of remaining eligibility and projects as a power forward.
Atwood averaged 20.8 points and 9.0 rebounds last season and told ASUDevils.com he is also seriously considering Iowa and Florida State.
"Coach Herb Sendek and coach (Stan) Johnson told me I can come in right away, impact player, they love my ability," Atwood said.
"I like to attack, really. If they try to close in I got a little jumper so I can shoot it. But I like contact, put it that way. I'm a quick attack off the dribble and I like to get in the post and go."
