GPC sophomores playing well

The Jaguars are trying to make a return trip to Hutch in March this year with some leaders. We had a chance to touch base with assistant coach David Dennis today.
Jacquiese Holcombe, (SO) 6 foot 7 (200) from College Park, GA will redshirt this season. He will take classes part-time at GPC second semester.

Marqise Wright, (SO) 6 foot 6 (205) from Gainesville, GA. Wright is a lefty with not really a true position. Marqise is a transfer from Murray State.
"Wright has a good knowledge of the game and is a very solid scorer," said coach David Dennis.
East Carolina and East Tennessee State have called on him. Wright is at 8.8 points and 7.6 rebounds this season.
Keldrick Coleman, (SO) 6 foot 6 (225) from Gainesville, GA.
"He is a freakish athlete for his size," Dennis said. "Keldrick has the quickest hands I have ever seen. He will not back down from a challenge in the post."
Coleman has great explosion off the floor. He is more a 4/3 man. Coleman is averaging 6.8 points and 6.1 rebounds.
Jacolby Davis, (SO) 6 foot 1 (185) from Meridian, MS.
"The point guard and the heart and soul of this team," Dennis said. "He sets the tone. He gets to the rack with the best of them and his tough as nails."
Davis led the nation last year in steals. Jacolby was a qualifier out of high school. Appalachian State has shown interest. Had 32 points in a game this season and is at 14 points,5 assists and 3.5 steals
Fred Brathwaite (SO) 6 foot 4 (205) from Columbus, GA.
"Hands down the 2/3 man is our best scorer. He can really score from anywhere on the floor. Fred really loves working in the weight room," Dennis said. "Fred can post up smaller guards and really likes to slash the baseline."
South Alabama has inquired. Brathwaite will be a summer graduate. Fred took a unofficial to Auburn. Fred is averaging 20.8 points, 8.6 rebounds and shooting 63% from the floor.
Satarvis Billings (SO) 6 foot 4 (204) from Perry, GA. The shooting guard really likes to play out on the wing. Billings can knockdown the three-pointer and really wants the ball in the clutch. Billings was the MVP of the region tourney last year. On the season so far Billings is at 16.7 points and shooting a hot 59% from three-point range (42-71).
GPC has some solid freshman to keep you eyes on for next year in two Canadians. Akeem Sween, 6'4 from Toronto, and Nate Mitchell, 5'8 from Canada. Both players have seen a lot of action in the first semester for the Jaguars.
