Central Arizona College has already played five games since after the Christmas Holiday break. The Vaqueros opened up with losses to Howard College (TX) and East Mississippi Community College.

The next three games saw wins versus Williston State College (ND) 82-73, Indian Hills Community College 84-77 and league rival Arizona Western College 72-64.
The Vaqueros are currently 13-3 on the season under head coach Jordan Dreiling. Sophomores DesJuan Newton and DeAndre Mathieu are leading the way.
Newton a wing player from Seattle, Wash., is currently averaging 17.6 points and 6.6 rebounds this season. Mathieu, a point guard, transferred in from Morehead State University in Kentucky. Mathieu is averaging 17.3 points, 7 rebounds and 5.9 assists this season.
Freshman Herve Aholode saw very limited action while in high school at Huntington Prep in West Virginia. The Benin, Africa native is averaging 13.8 points and 9.2 rebounds this season for the Vaqueros.
The Vaqueros will look to keep the streak alive in a very solid Region 1 this season and a magic trip to Hutchinson, Kan., when March rolls around.
