Greyhounds have some talent

The second time around is a charm for current Greyhounds coach Kyle Gerdeman. Gerdeman took over the head coach this past season after being at Mineral Area College as a assistant coach and prior to that was a assistant under Pat Smith at Moberly Area Community College. The Greyhounds are in 2nd place at (4-2) and (15-11) overall in the always tough Missouri region. JucoJunction caught up with assistant coach Robbie Bates about a few Greyhounds' recruitment.
Mikey Dewalt: (SO) 5-foot-11 (155) from Carbondale, IL. The combo guard just recently had 14 assists versus Mineral Area College which set a school record. Mikey on the season is averaging 13.2 ppg, 4.8 rebounds and 6.3 assists this season. Dewalt is shooting 39% (51-130) from 3 point range. Mikey will need summer school to graduate.

"Mikey is a really good shooter that takes care of the ball," said Bates.
Nathan Hawkins: (SO) 6-foot-6 (250) from San Antonio, TX. Hawkins was at D1 Fairfield as a freshman. Hawkins prepped at The Lawrenceville School in New Jersey.
"Nathan is a big body who can hit the 15 footer if left open," said Bates.
Hawkins has registered four double-doubles in his last five games. Nathan is averaging 11.2 ppg and 5 rebounds this season for the Greyhounds. He's wide open in the recruiting process.
Allen Musgrove: (FR) 6-foot-4 (210) from Miami, FL.
"Allen has really developed his scoring touch second semester," said Bates.
Musgrove is averaging 7.3 ppg and 5.8 rebounds this season.
