Group of four move on from Cecil

Head Coach Bill Lewit informed JucoJunction that four of his Seahawks have signed scholarships for next season. Cecil played at the D2 National Tournament this past year in Danville, IL and placed 5th. Cecil won the National Title back in the 2005-2006 season. Cecil finished this season at 33-3.
Paris Carter: (SO) 6-foot-4 (225) from Baltimore, MD. Carter will be heading to New Mexico State next season. Paris played his freshman season at the University of Hartford. He played in 27 games at Hartford averaging 7.8 ppg and 3.6 rebounds in 27

games played. Paris made the All-Rookie Team in the America East Conference last season. Carter was voted MVP of the Maryland Region Tourney this past year along with be named 2nd Team All-American. Ball State and Central Florida showed interest in Carter.
"Paris is a very strong kid that has a solid mid-range game. He is power guard that can get to the rack," said JucoJunction staff member Bret Swanson.
Carter averaged 15.4 ppg, 4.2 rebounds and 4.8 assists this past season.
Leslie Simmons: (SO) 6-foot-7 (190) from New York, NY. The tweener will be heading to home soon and will be attending Stony Brook (NY) in the fall.
"Les has great reactions and a nice shooting stroke. He is versatile where he can defend a 3 or 4 man and really hits the boards on both ends," commented Swanson.
Leslie averaged 18.2 ppg and 9.8 rebounds this past year while shooting 51% (242-471) from the floor. The 1st Team all-American scored 1,021 points and grabbed 520 rebounds in his Cecil career. Leslie is just the 2nd player in Cecil history to record 1,000 points and 500 rebounds.
"Leslie has a uncanny way of scoring the ball," said Lewit.
Leslie made the All-Tourney team at the National Tourney this year. Morehead State, Long Island, Florida A&M all showed interest in Simmons this spring.
Keyron Sheard, (SO) 6-foot-1 (185), and Qavotaraji Waddell, (SO) 6-foot-10 (240), will be teammates again next season at the University of Tennessee-Chattanooga. Sheard is tough point guard that does everything you need to win ball games.
"Keyron can find the open man and has the ability to pullup and hit a midrange jumper," said Swanson.
Sheard averaged 11.6 ppg, 4 rebounds and 9.5 assists. Keyron was 66-5 in his career at Cecil CC.
"Keyron is the ultimate team player and a true winner," said Lewit.
He was a 1st Team All Region and Maryland performer.
Waddell played his freshman season at Maryland Eastern Shore.
"The 3rd year player is very athletic and really blocks shots," said Swanson.
Waddell averaged 9.3 rebounds this past season. He averaged 6.8 ppg ,9.5 rebounds and 3 blocks this season. Western Illinois, Cleveland State and Florida A&M all showed interest in Waddell.
