Guard makes the call

Three official visits is what it took for one junior college guard to decide where to play at next season. This Jayhawk Conference player will look to lead the Cowley College Tigers this season. "Tyrus McGee has decided to attend Iowa State University for next season," said Tigers Head Coach Tommy DeSalme. McGee a Stringtown, O.K. native, decided on the Cyclones over Wichita State, Creighton and Colorado.

"Iowa State Head coach Fred Hoiberg did all of the recruiting on Tyrus. He saw him play in Tulsa and Dallas this past summer and has really followed him," said DeSalme.
McGee, a combo guard, will play more point guard this season according to DeSalme. McGee averaged 16.6 points, 5.3 rebounds and 2.5 assists per game last season for the 21-11 Tigers. He shot 49.6 percent (194-391) from the floor and 44 percent (80-180) from 3-point range.
JucoJunction will have a chance to see the Tigers in Dallas next month at The Mitchell-Mullen JUCO Blowout.
