"Tyrus McGee has decided to attend Iowa State University for next season," said Tigers Head Coach Tommy DeSalme. McGee a Stringtown, O.K. native, decided on the Cyclones over Wichita State, Creighton and Colorado.
"Iowa State Head coach Fred Hoiberg did all of the recruiting on Tyrus. He saw him play in Tulsa and Dallas this past summer and has really followed him," said DeSalme.
McGee, a combo guard, will play more point guard this season according to DeSalme. McGee averaged 16.6 points, 5.3 rebounds and 2.5 assists per game last season for the 21-11 Tigers. He shot 49.6 percent (194-391) from the floor and 44 percent (80-180) from 3-point range.
