Half a dozen prospects at Paris

There aren't many junior college teams in the nation that feature more experience than the Paris Dragons. Coach Bill Foy fields ten sophomores and nearly all of them are good enough to play at the next level.
Paris started 10-and-1 in its league before a recent rough stretch. The Dragons also handed Lon Morris College its only loss of the year. Lon Morris won the rematch when Oklahoma commit Michael Neal hit a half-court shot at the buzzer.

We talked to coach Foy about some of his standout sophomores.
Lamar Searight: Searight is a 6-foot-1, 190-pound guard. He averages about 12.5 points a game. "Quite a few schools are recruiting him. Marshall, Oklahoma called recently and UCONN called yesterady. As far as who's actively recruiting him, a lot of people are waiting on his grades. He's off to a pretty good start with that and his recruiting will pick up more."
Alexander Starr: Starr is Paris' top rebounder despite being just 6-foot-4 and is the only player to start every game. "His offensive game has really started to come around. He can shoot the three ball and he's really good defensively." Starr is being recruited by Stephen F. Austin, St. Mary's, North Texas and Sam Houston State.
Michael Battle: Battle is a two-guard being recruited by Penn State and Rutgers a little bit. However, Foy said he is probably more of mid-major player. "He has deep range, he can really shoot," Foy said. "I think he's probably a low-to-mid-major."
Roderick Earls: Earls runs the point for the Dragons. "He's a good solid point guard," Foy said. "He is another guy that's probably a low-to-mid major." Stephen F. Austin and Arkansas-Little Rock are the most heavily involved with Earls right now.
Rickey Quarles: Quarles is a 6-foot-2, 185-pounder out of Shreveport, La. "He is a pure left-handed scorer," Foy said. "He's a high D2 probably, he's getting a little D1 interest."
Donnell Franklyn: Franklyn came to Paris from Division One Weber State as a freshman. "He could go low major in the end," Foy said. "He is really active, he's a good rebounder and takes charges, things like that. He can really score around the basket."
6-foot-9 Tyler Best and 6-foot-6 Bobby Joshua man the paint for Paris. Foy said both are probably low major players.
