Hanchett PAC 10 Bound

Hanchett committed to Oregon State after taking an official visit to the Corvallis based school.
Hanchett was recruited to Utah Valley by current Oregon State Asst. Coach Jeff Reinert. He played for Reinert during the 1999-2000 season at Utah Valley before embarking on an LDS mission for two years.
By the time Hanchett returned to Utah Valley in the fall, Reinert had left the Wolverine program and accepted a position on Jay John's staff at Oregon State.
Utah Valley, which is coached by former Utah Asst. Coach Dick Hunsaker, had hoped to retain Hanchett for the next two years as the Wolverines make the move to the Division I ranks.
Hanchett, who is a bit of a tweener size wise, is an athletic power forward who gets most of his damage done around the basket. He averaged roughly 15 points and 11 rebounds per game this past season to help the Wolverines reach the Region 18 Title game.
