Harcum off to hot start

The Harcum College Bears remained undefeated this past weekend after beating Garrett College and Frederick Community College. The Bears are currently 11-0 on the season and ranked 6th in the nation in the latest NJCAA Division One Poll. The Bears have scored over 100 points in every game so far this season and are currently leading the country at 112.8 points per game. JucoJunction takes a closer look at some of the Bears' players in this article.
Antonio Bumpus, a pre-season first-team all-American, is currently averaging 19.7 ppg and 4.5 rebounds on the season. Bumpus is hearing from Rutgers, West Virginia, James Madison, Drexel and LaSalle currently according to Head Coach Drew Kelly. Bumpus played this past season at the Mullens JUCO 120 Camp in Tulsa, OK and is a Columbus, OH native.

"Antonio has really matured since his freshman year in regards to his consistency," said Kelly.
Berend Weijs, (SO) 6-foot-10, hails from Amsterdam, Netherlands.
"Berend is our most improved player since last season. He plays hard on defense and can really run the floor for a guy his size," Kelly said.
Weijs is currently averaging 7 ppg, 7.1 rebounds and 5 blocks for the Bears this season while shooting 67% from the floor. Weijs carries a 3.7 GPA in the classroom according to coach Kelly.
Diyaaldin Kelly, 6-foot-11, is a local kid from Philadelphia. Kelly is currently averaging 5.3 ppg, 5.1 rebounds and 2.5 blocks for the Bears.
"Diyaaldin provides a huge presence in the paint. He's got a long wing span that really makes him a force defensively," said Kelly.
These three sophomores are looking to land at NCAA Division One programs this spring and join two fellow teammates who have already signed on. Wilbur O'Neal signed with Robert Morris (PA) and Jeremiah Bowman signed with Longwood University this past fall.
