Hayes leading the way

The big showdown tonight in the Show Me State features Missouri State University-West Plains vs State Fair Community College. The Grizzlies are currently ranked No. 1 in the latest NJCAA Poll at 23-2.

Lonnie Hayes is gaining interest this season this season from Oklahoma, Nebraska, UC Riverside, Illinois-Chicago and UT San Antonio according to Grizzly Assistant Coach Damon Francis. Hayes is ranked No. 67 in the JucoJunction Top 150 this season.
The point guard from Cincinnati, O.H. is averaging 18.7 points and 4.1 assists per game this season. Hayes is currently shooting 46 percent (146-318) from the floor this year.
Hayes prepped at Maine Central Institute and played AAU basketball with Ozie Davis and the Queen City Prophets program while in high school.
Hayes played his freshman season at Columbus State Community College in Ohio before leaving the program at the semester break.
Look for many more schools to jump into the picture with the point guard this spring.
