Hendrix makes new commiment

JucoJunction had a chance to touch base with assistant coach John Craig and he informed us that Desmond Hendrix and Dexter Powell of Wabash Valley College in Mount Carmel, IL have both made their college choices for next season.

Hendrix, (SO) 6-foot-10 (250) from Chicago, has verballed to new head coach Heath Schroyer at the University of Wyoming. Desmond will team up with former high school teammate Brandon Ewing. Hendrix visited LSU back in the fall and committed to the Tigers and then the school and Desmond parted ways. Hendrix visited the Laramie campus this past weekend.

"Desmond is a big-bodied kid and his best basketball is still in front of him," said Craig.

Dexter Powell, (SO) 6-foot-4 (210) from Rome, GA. The combo forward made his visit to Middle Tennessee State this past weekend and liked what he saw.

"Dexter will step in and have a nice career for Middle Tennessee State," said Craig. Dexter averaged 9 ppg this season for the Warriors.
