Henry Could Leave JC with Three Years

Tim Henry, a 6-4, 180 pound shooting guard/swingman from Salt Lake C.C. in Salt Lake City, Ut., has received a lot of attention this winter after enjoying a fine season for the Bruins.
JUCO Junction caught Henry in action at last week's Region 18 Tournament in St. George, Ut., where he enjoyed a terrific 32 point outburst in a win over Snow J.C.

Henry has excellent wheels and does a lot of damage in transition and driving to the basket. He also possesses legitimate three point shooting range, but on the day we watched him, Henry showed more of a penchant for attacking the basket and scoring from short distances.
This past season, Henry earned all-region honors in the Scenic West Athletic Conference. He averaged 19.7 points and 4.3 rebounds per game, shooting 49 percent from the floor and 35 percent from beyond the three point arc.
SLCC Head Coach Norm Parrish told JUCO Junction that a number of high major programs have been in this winter to take a look at Henry, whose older brother Scott attends Idaho State.
Iowa State, Illinois, Wisconsin, Penn State and Oklahoma have all been in to take a look at Henry, but thus far, none of those programs have extended a scholarship offer, Parrish said.
Idaho State has offered, and Wyoming has also expressed serious interest in Henry.
Henry, a native of Orem, Ut., started out at Salt Lake during the 1999-2000 school year, but he red-shirted. Following that year, Henry went to Argentina for an LDS Church Mission for two years, from 2000-2002.
That's why he's a 21-year old red-shirt freshman who could have three years to play on the D-I level. If he doesn't get a reasonable scholarship offer from a high level D-I program, Parrish said that there's a chance Henry could return to Salt Lake next fall.
JUCO Junction will keep you posted, so stay tuned.
