Henry Signs LOI; Mountain West Bound!

Tim Henry, the high scoring 6-4 swingman/shooting guard from Salt Lake C.C. in Salt Lake City, Ut., signed a national letter of intent with Wyoming on Monday.
JUCO Junction caught up with Henry on Monday night, just 24 hours after Cowboy Head Coach Steve McClain paid Tim and his family a visit in Orem, Ut.

McClain's visit helped seal the deal for Henry, who had taken official visits to Wyoming and Hawaii earlier this month.
"When I went to Wyoming for a visit, I felt real good about it," Henry said. "Coach McClain talked to me a lot on the visit, and that impressed me."
"I liked the facilities and the coaching staff, and I feel that I can come in and play," Henry continued. "I didn't have the same feeling at Hawaii. Hawaii itself is beautiful, and you can't find a better location, but it just didn't click with me like Wyoming did."
One of the advantages of playing in the Mountain West Conference is that Henry will have the chance to play in his native Beehive State against both Utah and Brigham Young University.
As a red-shirt freshman this season at Salt Lake, Henry earned first team all-region honors after averaging 19.7 points, 4.3 rebounds and 3.2 assists for a 21-11 Bruin squad. He shot 49 percent from the field, 35 percent beyond the three point arc and 70 percent from the foul line.
Henry impressed JUCO Junction last month at the Region 18 Tournament in St. George, Ut., where he consistently scored in transition and played with a great deal of energy the entire 40 minutes.
He thinks he can add some important dimensions to the Cowboy program.
"They lost a two guard [Dontay Richardson] and Marcus Bailey, so they are expecting me to go in there and do lots of things," Henry said. "They know I can score, but Coach McClain talked about how he liked my competitiveness and my flamboyance. I am also 22 years old, so I should also bring more leadership and maturity than the average recruit."
