High majors after CSI shooter

Kansas coach Bill Self is still recruiting at least one player in the class of 2007. Brad Garrett, the 6-foot-5, 195-pound freshman guard from the College of Southern Idaho has emerged as a high-major prospect, and is in the process of taking several official visits.
"Yes, Brad's recruitment is definitely picking up," said College of Southern Idaho head coach Barret Peery. "Kansas is just one of the schools making a strong push. In all, Brad is probably seriously looking at four to five schools right now. He took a visit to BYU last week and is going to Oklahoma State this weekend.

"Brad is probably going to take a visit to Kansas the following weekend, but nothing has been decided yet," he added. "He recently canceled his visit to Illinois and is still messing with Oregon and USC. After Brad's visit to Oklahoma State is complete, he will probably visit Kansas the next weekend, but again, nothing has been officially planned just yet."
Sophomore Julian Wright, who averaged 12-points and 7.8 rebounds per game this season, announced his intentions to enter the NBA Draft on Monday afternoon.
Brandon Rush, the 6-foot-6, 210-pound guard from Kansas City, Mo., hasn't made a decision about his future yet, but something could be announced, according to Self, in the next 10 days to two weeks.
Garrett has clearly established himself as one of the top JUCO shooters in the class of 2007. During his freshman season at College of Southern Idaho, he connected on 100-of-242 shots from behind the arc.
According to Peery, Self was in town over the weekend to get a closer look at the talented shooting guard.
"Brad is a bigger kid that can shoot the ball," said Peery. "He is a tremendous shooter. Actually, I would say Brad is a great shooter. He was a First Team All League performer and averaged close to 17 or 18-points per game and grabbed six or seven rebounds per game.
"Coach Self was here over the weekend," he added. "I've also had several conversations with Joe Dooley. Without question, Brad is interested in Kansas. Coach Self and I have been talking to Brad about taking a visit to Kansas. That's something he wants to do, but nothing has been officially planned just yet."
Garrett is originally from St. George, Utah and attended Pine View High School.
