Highland prospect stays in Illinois

Highland Community College fell short of playing in the NJCAA National Tourney this past season. The Cougars lost to Kankakee Community College in the Region 4 Championship game. Cougars head coach Ronnie Dean touched based with JucoJunction today on one of his players making a decision for next fall in this article.
"Abel Tillman will play his college basketball at Southern Illinois-Edwardsville next season. Abel is a big-time athlete who recruited 103 block shots this past season for us," said Dean.

Tillman started his college career at Central Florida Community College before landing at Highland Community College. Tillman, a St. Louis, MO native, averaged 9.5 ppg and 5.4 rebounds this season while shooting 54% from the floor.
"Abel is the best shot blocker for a kid his size I have ever been around. Abel was a complete steal for SIUE," said Dean.
Oral Roberts University, Tennessee Tech and Fresno State also showed interest in Tillman this spring according to Dean. Teammate Tim Steed is planning an official visit to Arkansas-Little Rock this coming weekend according to Dean.
JucoJunction will keep you posted on the rest of the Cougars and Region 4 during the spring when it happens right here on your source for junior college basketball recruiting.
