Highland recruiting about to heat up

Coming off their most successful showing ever at the national tournament, the Highland Cougars are now turning their attention to recruiting.
"It's kind of been surprisingly slow," said head coach Pete Norman. "Most of our guys focused on the season and then we went on spring break right when we got back from Hutch. I'm sure it will pick up after the NCAA Final Four."

Cougar post man Aaron Spears signed in November to play at St. John's, but no other players took any visits during the season. There are as many as five Cougars who could go Division One next season.
The sophomore who had the best year for Highland was 6-foot-3 LeMar Phillips. Phillips led the team in rebounding and has been getting some attention.
"The main one has been Montana and Florida A&M has shown a little bit of interest, those would be the two," said Norman. "He was kind of the glue to our team. He is an undersized forward, but he plays with a lot of heart. He's a very tough kid and does all the little things. A warrior is what we call him."
Temi Soyebo, Matt Burks, Jimmy Chappell and Kourtney Calvin will also get some looks over the next month. Guard Ray Parker had some low-major interest, but he will attend Rockford College and stay close to home.
