Hill College guard makes late decision

There are still a handful of spots to fill for a few Division One colleges and Morehead State filled one on Tuesday night. Hill College guard Brandon Callahan signed with Morehead.
"He signed last night at Morehead State," said Hill coach Swede Trenkle. "He actually had a lot of interest. UMKC and Colorado State looked at him pretty hard. Texas State, actually Arkansas State called this morning, but they were just a little too late."

Callahan played both guard spots for Hill and averaged 20 points and 6.5 assists as a sophomore.
"He is just a really good scorer. He shot 48 percent from the field. He didn't take a lot of threes, but he took really good ones actually," Trenkle said. "He's a great slasher, gets in the lane, shoots the mid-range shot real well, can score in traffic. And he's a great athlete, jumps out of the gym."
Callahan will likely be primarily a two-guard at the next level.
"At Morehead specifically, they've got a really good point coming in," Trenkle said. "They're looking at Brandon as a scoring guard, but he will play some point."
Losing Callahan and Josh Love, Trenkle knows he has some holes to fill for next season, but he thinks he is well on his way.
"I've got five or six guys," he said. "I've got a couple of transfers coming in that are really good and then I've got four of my own. Hopefully all of them will go D1."
