Walterboro, S.C. - USC Salkehatchie played in the nightcap of action in the Baymont Inn & Suites Classic and defeated a feisty team from Middle Georgia Tech 92-86. The Indians played just their second home game of the semester and first since the season opener on November 1. Indians head coach Travis Garrett has his squad at 5-2 on the season now. The Indians had very balanced scoring in Quincy Washington with 15 points, Bradley Smith 14 points, Jimmy Givens 14 points and Montel Baines 14 points.

Sophomores Washington (fresh off a new hair cut) and Smith played in just their second game of the season after sitting out a five game suspension that carried over from last season in an altercation with Spartanburg Methodist College.
Washington played his high school basketball at South Florence High School in Florence, S.C. Smith is a wing player who was an academic qualifier coming out of Keenan High School in Columbia, S.C.
Givens is a 22-year-old freshman who hails from Savannah, Ga. Baines is a freshman forward who enrolled back in January 2011 as a student before playing this season. Baines prepped at Kestrel Heights Charter in Raleigh, N.C.
The Indians look to get another victory today as they play Charlotte, N.C. based prep school Hamilton Hall Academy.
