Hosley Among JC Elite in 2004

Quinton Hosley, a versatile 6-7, 205 pound small forward/swingman from Lamar C.C. in Lamar, Colo., has established himself as one of the elite JC prospects in the Class of 2004.
Hosley had a tremendous freshman season at Lamar in 2002-2003. The Denver native averaged 19 points, nine rebounds and four assists per game for the Runnin' Lopes, shooting 48 percent from the floor and 40 percent beyond the arc.

Lamar Head Coach Kris Baumann told JUCO Junction that Hosley has been offered scholarships by Baylor, Kansas State, UNLV, Colorado and Wyoming.
"They have hit him pretty hard," Baumann said. "Everybody that sees him loves him."
What sets Hosley apart from other players his size are his perimeter skills.
"He's really a big guard who can rebound the ball and push it," Baumann said. "He reminds me of Scottie Pippen in that he does a little bit of everything."
Hosley attended Lincoln H.S. in Denver prior to arriving at Lamar, but his basketball roots go back to New York City. In fact, he grew up in New York before relocating to Denver with his family before he began high school. His dad was a bit of a playground basketball legend back in the day, and Quinton has picked up where he left off.
Hosley's recruitment promises to be one of the more interesting ones over the next several months, and JUCO Junction will keep you abreast on any new information that comes to light as the summer evaluation period approaches. Stay tuned!
