Illinois guard putting up big numbers

Matt Neaville is really putting up some serious numbers again this year for the Cobras of Parkland College in Champaign, IL. Neaville, 6-foot from Urbana, IL is currently averaging 35.6 points per game this season.

Matt just recently sat out 2 games with a bad ankle injury versus Wilbur Wright College and Kankakee CC. He returned this week to score 38 points versus #1 Illinois Central College.
"Matt played at about 60% on a bad ankle," said coach Chris Warren. "He hadn't practiced for about 6-7 days."
Earlier this season versus Malcolm X, Neaville set a school record with 58 points. He was (17-26) from three-point range. He started the game off by missing his first five shots.
"Matt is just a very humble kid and competitive monster. He just wants to win," Warren said.
Currently on the season he's (77-139) from three-point range, which works out to 55.4 %.
"I would put him up against anyone in the country when it comes to shooting," said the coach.
Neaville started classes four years back at Danville Area CC. He left shortly after attending without ever playing a game. He has been at Parkland the last two years. It looks clock eligibilty is going to catch up with him and he will have to head the D2-NAIA route.
Last season Matt averaged 20.5 points per game and shot 42% from 3 pt range (103-243). Stay tune as Jucojunction.com will follow the progress throughout the season.
