Imperial Valleys Brown Signs with San Jose

D.J. Brown, who established himself as one of the top prospects in the state of California as a sophomore, has signed a national letter of intent with San Jose State this spring.
JUCO Junction has confirmed this with Imperial (CA) Valley Head Coach Nick Gehler.

Gehler said that Brown took official visits this spring to Cal State Northridge, San Francisco and Boise State before casting his lot with the Spartans.
Brown signed with San Jose after taking his final official visit to the Western Athletic Conference program last month. The school has yet to announce the signing.
Brown, who will graduate this summer from Imperial Valley, averaged 21.1 points per game for the Arabs. He also grabbed seven rebounds per game and shot 49 percent from the floor.
"D.J. is an extremely strong and explosive combo forward," Gehler said of his star player. "He's more of a four until he develops a better shot from the perimeter, but he's a solid defender who will take a charge. He knows how to play."
Brown transferred into Imperial Valley after spending his freshman year at Arizona Western College in Yuma, Ariz. He will have two years of eligibility remaining at San Jose State.
