In Focus: Kennedy King College

The Kennedy King College Statesmen played this past Columbus Day at Illinois Valley Community College and JucoJunction was there to see them. The Statesmen have added a former Division One transfer and some other players to the mix for this season in Region 4 in Northern Illinois.
Here is a quick breakdown on some of head coach Garland Dildy's players.

Devin Miller, (SO) 6-foot-4 (210) from Chicago, IL, prepped at Boys to Men Academy after playing at legendary Martin Luther King High School in the Chicago Public League. Miller, an academic qualifier, took an official visit a few weeks back to Coastal Carolina University and received an offer from the Chants in return. Miller is geting interest from Eastern Illinois University and Illinois-Chicago in the process. Miller averaged 6 ppg last season for the Statesmen.
Frederick Harris, (SO) 6-foot-6 (220) from South Bend, IN, is a returner from last season's team at Kennedy King. Harris a small forward has received early interest from Chicago State and Southeast Miisouri State. Harris averaged 2.9 ppg and 3.7 rebounds last season.
Tim Flowers, (SO) 6-foot-4 (250) from Chicago, IL, is an undersized post player that is built like a manchild. Flowers played last season at UW-Milwaukee. Tim played his high school ball with former Memphis Tiger Derrick Rose and Chicago Bull at Chicago Simeon High School. Tim can really bully people inside the paint for position and enjoys making contact in the paint.
Jessie Banks, (SO) 6-foot-1 (185) from Vidalia, LA, was at Holmes Community College in Jackson, MS a few seasons back. Banks is a combo guard who is suited at the point guard position. Jessie can really get your face as a lock down defender and he has a good body.
The Northern Illinois of Region 4 looks like it could be up for grabs this season and look for the Statesmen to make some noise and try to get to the National Tourney in Hutchinson, KS this March. JucoJunction will follow the region this season and we will keep you posted.
