In focus: Olney Central starts hot

The Olney Central College Blue Knights have started the season 5-2 heading into a big game tonight at Vincennes University. Coach Mike Burris (2nd year) feels good about this years team after finishing last season at (8-23). Here is a quick look at the Blue Knights.
Ihsan Phillips: (SO) 6 foot 9 (210) from Philadelphia, PA is a combo forward more of a 4/3 man.

"Ihsan is getting a opportunity to play this year after transferring over from Panola (TX) where he only played in eight games last season. He is a really skilled long and athletic forward who can step out and hit the three pointer," said coach Burris.
Phillips is averaging 15 points, seven rebounds and three blocks per game. Ishan visited Butler unofficially in October and was offered by the Bulldogs. He is also receiving interest from Southeast Missouri State, Loyola-Chicago and Northwestern State (LA).
Chris Tucker: 5 foot 10 (185) point guard from Philadelphia, PA is averaging 11 points, 5.1 rebounds and three assists per game this season.
"Tuck is our leader; he makes us go on the floor. He is a tough strong kid who guards 94 feet."
Tucker arrived at OCC back in January 2006 for classes fulltime. Prior to OCC he attended Gloucester CC (NJ) in Spring 2005 where he did not play. The question is where his eligibilty stands for the next level.
Chris Dougherty: (SO) 6 foot 9 (270) signed with Indiana State for baseball. Chris is a pitcher on the baseball team and his currently averaging 7.2 points per night this season for the Blue Knights.
Jared Rehmel: (FR) 5 foot 11 (150) from Jasonville, IN. Rehmel is an academic qualifer who can leave Olney Central after this season with three years to play.
"Jared is a pesky competitive kid who is averaging 13.3 points in 32 minutes for us," Burris said.
Rehmel has hit 41 percent (15-39) of his threes this season.
"Jared averaged 26 points per game last season in high school."
Kijuane Leach: (FR) 6 foot 3 (205) from Chicago, IL is a former Eastern Illinois signee coming out of Hales Fransican High School.
"Kijuane is a big-time defender on the floor," Burris said. "He will do whatever it takes to win."
Leach is a combo guard, more of a 2/1 type. He is currently at 10.4 points, 5.2 rebounds and 5.6 assists.
Steve White: (FR) 6 foot 7 (195) from Milwaukee, WI is at 12 points and nine rebounds this season.
"Steve is a great offensive rebounder and quick leaper. He has a great nose for the ball," said coach Burris.
Josh Jones: (FR) 6 foot 4 (195) from Jefferson, ME is an old-school, blue-collar kid. Josh prepped at Maine Central Institute last season.
"Josh loves to take charges and really competes at all times."
Jones is averaging six points and five rebounds on the young season.
