In Focus: USC-Salkehatchie

USC-Salkehatchie had quite a first season last year in the NJCAA under head coach Travis Garrett. USC-Salkehatchie is located in Walterboro, SC northwest of Charleston, SC right off I-95. The Indians play in Region 10 with the likes of Aiken Tech,Brunswick Community College,Cape Fear and Spartanburg Methodist just to name a few. JucoJunction had a chance to see the Indians this past weekend at Kenn Littlefield's JUCO Jamboree in Macon, GA at Mercer University.
Larry Cox, (SO) 6-foot-7 (247) from Macon, looks like a new man in his new body. Cox played a few seasons back at Cowley College in Arkansas City, KS under then head coach Brian Jackson, who passed away this past week. Cox has lost it least 40 pounds over a few seasons ago. Larry really likes to play physical on both ends of the floor and he plays with a lot of energy. Larry's future depends on what he does academically this first semester.

Travis Wilkins, (FR) 6-foot-9 (200) from Spartanburg, SC, is a 22-year-old freshman that never played high school basketball. Wilkins nickname is "Trap". Wilkins plays with a great motor, he rebounds on both ends and he really can stalk the baseline. Wilkins is a player to keep a eye on for the 2010 class.
JucoJunction will see the Indians more during the season and we will keep you posted on how things go for these two players.
