Iowa Lakes scouting report

Iowa Lake Community College is located in Estherville, IA which is buried in the northeast corner of the state. Head coach Troy Larson starts his first season at the college this season. Larson is a former Laker player and comes over from South Dakota State University where he served as a assistant coach. JucoJunction saw the Lakers play this weekend in Iowa City at the JUCO Jam on the campus of the University of Iowa.
Cornelius Vines: (SO) 6-foot-2 (185) from Syracuse, NY.

"Cornelius is a combo guard who can slash to the basket and breakdown defenders. I was really impressed with the way he played the game," said Bret Swanson.
Vines averaged 17.8 ppg,4.8 rebounds and 3.2 assists last season while just playing in 18 games for the Lakers. Cornelius transferred in from Globe Tech (NY) where he was a student back in the fall 2005. Cornelius never played a at Globe Tech. Canisius has kept tabs on the combo guard this fall.
Mitch Bain: (SO) 6-foot-2 (190) from The Bahamas. Bain is a 3rd year player that started his college career at a now defunct school in Nova Scotia, Canada.
"Mitch can play the 1-3 positions on the floor and is very strong. He has great, great strength to finish at the rim and draws a lot of contact while approaching the basket," said Swanson.
Bain redshirted last year at Iowa Lakes CC.
David Fox: (SO) 6-foot-6 (215) from The Bahamas. Fox is a 3rd year player for the Lakers and averaged 4.5 ppg and 4.2 rebounds last season.
"David is a lefthanded power forward who can post up physically and has good footwork while doing it," said Swanson.
The Lakers look to compete with the likes of Kirkwood Community College and Des Moines Area Community College in the Iowa Region Division Two conference this season.
