JUCO forward visits

Georgia Perimeter College sophomore Shane Henry has emerged as a new potential target to help fill the Tigers' 2014 class.
The 6-foot-7, 190-pound forward was contacted one week ago by Auburn assistant Tony Jones in hopes of landing Henry on campus for a face-to-face meeting. That visit happened on Wednesday.

"They wanted me to come over and I was excited to come over and prove myself and show that I can play on this level," Henry told AuburnSports.com.
"Coach Jones told me they want to start something new and be urgent - have a sense of urgency and not be laid back. They want to win and they want to bring that atmosphere to Auburn. I was excited about it."
Henry does not hold an Auburn offer at the moment, but he hopes that will change. Henry entered the visit with a top two of Virginia Tech and Arkansas. Following Henry's tour of the campus and facilities, that top group now includes Auburn.
"I guess I can put them in there," Henry said. "I really like the school, the campus and the atmosphere and everything. This was my first trip to Auburn. The facilities were cool. It's something different. I had not been to any real big schools, so it was a good atmosphere and it's different and exciting."
Henry averaged 13 points and 12 rebounds per game last season. Henry's 363 total rebounds last season ranked 6th in the NJCAA and his 136 total blocks ranked 3rd.
"I'm athletic, I rebound, I block shots, I'm a good fit," Henry said.
Henry will be visited by Virginia Tech soon and plans a visit to Arkansas soon. Henry is on track to graduate this summer, making academics - not an immediate decision - his main focus moving forward.
