JUCO post makes decision

Ronnie White had offers from Indiana State, University of Detroit, among others. He also started receiving interest from Kansas State, but determined after his official visit over the weekend to Arkansas State, that he would give his verbal commitment.
White is a 6-foot-9 transfer from Danville Community College, where he averaged 10 points, 8.5 rebounds, and nearly four rebounds per game. His stats are pretty amazing considering that he played 20 minutes per contest.

Head men's basketball coach of the Paris Dragons, Chuck Taylor says that it was the relationship that helped his sophomore post commit to the Red Wolves.
"Ronnie is a relationship guy. Corey Barker (assistant) jumped all over Ronnie in the recruiting process and had to have him. Head coach [John] Brady produces bigs, and told Ronnie that he could prepare him for the next level after Arkansas State."
Taylor likes what he sees in White and sees the potential he has at the Sun Belt level.
"The one thing about Ronnie is that he has a motor. He isn't a post player that doesn't just take up space. He gets after it on the glass and does a great job of moving outside his area to get loose balls and make plays. He is a really good shot blocker that can make an opponent think twice about taking a shot in the lane.
"On the offensive end, [Ronnie] has shown that he is developing good moves in the paint. He is a decent athlete that hustles all over the court. He has the tools to be successful."
