Kansas State lands Hutchinson big man

This was probably the worst kept secret in junior college recruiting all year long. JucoJunction was just informed that Abdul Herrera, 6-foot-10 (255) from Hutchinson Community College, will sign with Kansas State on Friday according to Hutchinson Community College Head coach Ryan Swanson.
Herrera signed with the University of Cincinnati out of high school when then Frank Martin was a assistant coach at Cinncinnati with Bob Huggins. Herrera detoured and played at USC-Aiken, a Division Two school in Aiken, SC, before landing at Hutchinson last fall.

Herrera averaged 6 ppg and 4.5 rebounds this season for the Blue Dragons. Abdul joins teammate Antonio Weary (Central Michigan) in finding schools for next season.
"Abdul was committed all along to Kansas State," said Swanson.
