Kirkwood pair ready to move on

Kirkwood Community College Eagles in Cedar Rapids, IA have had a lot of success over the years with head coach Doug Wagemester. Wagemester just finished his 9th year at the helm and guided the Eagles to a 26-6 season and a conference championship. The Eagles lost in the Region Championship to Des Moines Area CC who then advanced to the NJCAA D2 National Tourney in Danville, IL. Coach Wagemester has now a career record
of 245-65 at Kirkwood CC.

Adam Rodenberg and Bryan Petersen both had great careers as Eagles and are now finding new schools for next fall.
Rodenberg, (SO) 6-foot-6 (235) from Garnavillo, IA, has signed on at California-Irvine for next season. The power forward visited Murray State and California-Irvine before making the decision to move to the west coast.
Adam played just in 17 games this season after getting hurt this past summer at Jerry Mullens JUCO Camp in Tulsa, OK. Rodenberg averaged 13.3 ppg and 6.8 rebounds while shooting 55% (82-149) from the floor.
"Adam is a physical powerhorse. He is a very versatile faceup player. I really believe he is a steal for California-Irvine," said Wagemester.
Adam was a first-team all-region player this season. Rodenberg carries a 3.7 GPA in the classroom.
Petersen, (SO) 6-foot-1 (175) from Clinton, IA, will walk-on next season at Iowa State
University. Bryan averaged 12.2 ppg , 5.5 rebounds and 4.3 assists this year. The pure point guard was a first-team all-American and a first-team all-region player this season.
"Bryan really had a great year for us. He was the MVP of Region 11 this season," said Wagemester.
Petersen received interest from Northern Colorado and California-Irvine before deciding on attending Iowa State. Ryan carries a 3.9 GPA in the classroom.
