Lake Land forward chooses Chippewas

William McClure, a rock solid post player from Lake Land Junior College, made the choice to join the Central Michigan basketball program.
McClure who averaged 8pts and 10 rebounds chose Central Michigan over offers from Illinois-Chicago, Eastern Illinois, Chicago State, Eastern Washington, Florida A&M, and Tennessee Tech.

Will brings a very tough mindset to the basketball court and that toughness is what has Coach Ernie Zeigler excited about Will becoming a Chippewa.
"William has some big shoes to fill but he has the opportunity to become another great rebounder for us after losing Marcus Van, who was the best rebounder in the conference this past season," Coach Zeigler said. "Will brings a hard nosed approach to our basketball program and we're looking forward to him helping raise our level of toughness and physicality."
There were several factors playing into Will's decision to make his commitment to Central Michigan.
"I like the campus a lot. It's a great campus and everything is new," McClure said. "CMU has my major. I want to major in Business and from all I have read, CMU has a great business school. I also like the team and Coach Zeigler a lot so I committed."
Also helping Will's decision is the fact that he should fit in very well with the rest of the players in the program.
"I think I will fit in very well," McClure said. "The point guards on the team know how to feed the ball. We've got shooters on the team. We've got a lot of people that can jump so it should be a fun team to be a part of."
Now that he is a Chippewa, Will has big goals for the upcoming season.
"They won the MAC West this past year," McClure said. "Hopefully, we can work real hard and win the MAC outright next year."
