Lamar Lands D-I Transfer

Supo Jegede, a 6-8, 220 pound power forward who spent his freshman year at the University of Wyoming, has transferred to Lamar C.C. in Lamar, Colo.
A native of Aurora, Colo., Jegede sat out at Wyoming in 2002-2003. Academic issues were the main factor behind Jegede's transfer to Lamar, according to Runnin' Lopes Head Coach Kris Baumann.

Interest in Jegede could become strong next winter, because he might be able to leave Lamar with three years of eligibility at a Division I school.
Baumann said that Jegede will need 12 hours this summer in order to be eligible at Lamar for the first semester. He'll then need between 34-36 more hours by the end of next summer to earn his associates degree and move on to a Division I school.
"He's a good athlete who is very bouncy," Baumann said. "He's probably more skilled on the wing than our other post player, Reggie Jackson."
JUCO Junction hopes to catch Lamar in action sometime next winter, but in the meantime, we'll keep you posted on him and other D-I transfers relocating to junior colleges in the fall.
Stay tuned!
