Lamar sophomores off to hot start

Lamar Community College is off to a great start this season. The Runnin Lopes are currently 17-3. Head coach Chris Tifft has Brandon Johnson signed on with Long Beach State in the early signing period. JucoJunction had some time to talk to coach Tifft about his sophomores.
Darius Joseph: (SO) 6-foot-2 from Tacoma, WA.

"Darius is player who can defend multiple positions," Tifft said. "He really competes on both ends and takes pride in being a playmaker."
Darius is averaging 8.6 points and 4.3 assists this season for the Runnin Lopes. Joseph is receiving interest from Cleveland State, Weber State, North Texas and Southern Utah
Delvin Franklin: (SO) 6-foot-2 from Houston, TX.
"Franklin an off guard that shoots as well a guard that I have seen in awhile," Tifft said.
Delvin is shooting 48% from the floor and 45% from 3-point range (43-94). Franklin is at 12.6 points per game this season. Franklin played last year at Seminole State CC (OK). Delvin was a academic qualifier coming out of high school.
Jerry Nash: (SO) 6-foot-8 from Las Vegas, NV. Nash is a third year player that has prior stops at Northeastern Junior College (1 semester) and Cochise CC (AZ) (three semesters).
"Jerry is a tremendous athlete for his size," Tifft said. "He has suffered foot injuries the previous two years, and this is the first time he has been healthy."
Nash is averaging three points per game this season.
