Lamars Jackson : Big Man Tough in the Paint

Baseball's version of Reggie Jackson specialized in the long ball.
Junior college basketball's version, who is a 6-8, 235 pound rising sophomore power forward/center at Lamar C.C. in Lamar, Colo., prefers the short game around the basket.

A native of Denver, Colo., Jackson averaged 13 points and seven rebounds per game for the Runnin' Lopes in 2002-2003. His crisp 68 percent field goal percentage was a testament to his ability to get things done in the low post.
"Reggie can really score down on the block," Lamar Head Coach Kris Baumann said. "He must become better and more active on the defensive end."
Jackson's solid freshman campaign at Lamar has already yielded a pair of scholarship offers. Baumann said that Colorado and Louisiana Tech have each offered Jackson, while Kansas State and Baylor are keeping an eye on him.
JUCO Junction will keep you posted on Jackson and other emerging prospects in the Class of 2004 as the summer live period approaches, so stay tuned....
