Lee looks to finish strong

The Lee College Runnin' Rebels are currently 14-13 on the season. Head Coach Roy Champagne, in his 14th year at Lee, had a chance to talk to JucoJunction about his sophomores.
Rashad Woods: (SO) 6-foot-6 (230) from Houston, TX. Woods has signed to play at Kent State next season. Rashad played his freshman year at DePaul University. He is currently averaging 8.7 ppg this season for the Rebels.

Taurance Townsel: (SO) 6-foot-8 (270) from Houston, TX. Taurance is a third year player who redshirted back in the 2004-2005 season. Townsel is a gifted student in the classroom with a 3.9 GPA and plans on majoring in chemical engineering. The power forward is averaging 7.1 ppg and 6 rebounds this season.
"Taurance is a student athlete who has good go to moves and leads the region in blocked shots," said Champagne.
Montana State, Lafayette University and American University are courting Taurance this spring.
D'mond Grismore: (SO) 6-foot-6 (200) from Sugarland, TX.
"D'mond is an extremely gifted athlete who's a big time scorer," said Champagne.
Grismore will have to go the D2-NAIA route is averaging 16.9 ppg and 7 rebounds this season. The forward can hit the midrange jumper.
Corey Jefferson: (SO) 6-foot-0 (170) from Angleton, TX. The third year starting point guard was a walk on out of high school at Stephen F Austin.
"I'm really surprised he's not getting recruited harder than what he is," said Champagne.
Corey is getting 11 ppg and 9 assists for the Runnin' Rebels. Texas A&M-Corpus Christi, Lynn University (FL) and St Edward's (TX) are watching Jefferson.
Chris Patterson: (SO) 6-foot-5 (180) from Baytown, TX. Patterson is a wing player that comes off the bench for Lee College. Chris took classes part-time last season at Lee.
"Chris is a great offensive rebounded and can really shoot the three ball," said Champagne.
Patterson is averaging 11.7 ppg this season.
Dominique Keller: (FR) 6-foot-7 (220) Port Arthur, TX.
"Dominique plays all over the floor for us. The sky's the limit for Dominique. He really finds the basket and comes to compete every game," said Champagne.
Keller is getting 17.5 ppg and 6 rebounds a night. Keller also has great bounce and creates mismatches at times.
