Brown started his college career at The Citadel in Charleston, SC before going to junior college this past season. Brown averaged 16.7 ppg and 11 rebounds this year for the 17-10 Rangers.
"John is a tough matchup he is a great rebounder for his size and he just leaves it all out on the floor," said JucoJunction staff analyst Bret Swanson.
Brown, a Savannah, GA native, visited Portland State and Albany this spring along with Liberty University before deciding on the Flames. Brown shot 58% (174-299) from the floor this season for the Raiders.
Chris Johnson only played in 11 games for the Rangers of Kilgore College. Johnson, 6-foot-5 (195), hails from North Preston, Nova Scotia.
"Chris is a versatile wing who is a very capable scorer and shooter. Chris indicated that he was impressed with his future teammates and believes the academics and facilities were first class," said Kilgore College Head Coach Brian Hoberecht.
Johnson was hurt with a broken foot this season but managed to average 18.9 ppg and 3 rebounds while shooting 52% (74-143) from the floor in 11 games played. Johnson received interest from UC-Riverside, St. Bonaventure and Murray State before signing with the Flames.
