Lon Morris guard stays in Texas

For Lon Morris junior college freshman Bryson Graham the decision
on where to sign was made crystal clear after a visit to Texas A&M Monday.

After getting to campus and hanging out with players and coaches, the
6-foot-3, 190-pound guard committed to the Aggies after receiving an offer
during his visit.
"My brother really enjoyed it a lot. He committed to coach Gillispie," said
Bryson's older brother Brandon Graham. "He loved the coaching staff
and how coach Gillispie plays. They didn't have the most talented team in
the Big 12, but he got the most out of his players. He did a great job with
that. Bryson fit the system pretty well."
According to Brandon, the decision was quite easy once he and his brother
made it to College Station Monday.
"Once we got there it was really a no-brainer for him," Brandon said. "The
campus is great and what they are doing with the basketball program, and
they did a great job of recruiting him. It was really just a great situation
and it felt like a win-win situation."
On his visit the brothers had a chance to hang out with a few of the Aggie
players, and one of them was a reunion of sorts of two former teammates.
"He got a chance to hang out with Logan Lee, Joseph Jones
and Dominique Kirk," Brandon said. "He played ball with Dominique
Kirk in AAU. He's known him for two or three years now."
Graham and Kirk played for the Dallas Blue Chips AAU team, coached by
Mitch Malone that also boasts another A&M signee in forward Bryan
Davis.
Brandon knows AAU basketball well as he founded and is the coach for the San
Antonio Celtics, so he has a good perspective when he describes his little
brothers on-court attributes.
"He is a combo guard that shoots really well from the outside. He shot
40-percent from the 3-point line this year," Brandon said. "He plays defense
well. He is also a scorer. He was the only freshman to make first-team
All-Conference in Region 14, which is like the ACC of JUCO conferences. What
most people like about him is his strength, he's just very, very strong and
he's very explosive."
Graham joins a strong recruiting class that boasts five

150 prospects. His older brother said that Bryson fits in well with
the class and the type of basketball Gillispie has his team play.
"They got Donald Sloan coming in and we saw him this summer and I
know he's a very good player," Brandon said. "Derrick Roland is a
very good player. I believe they have a very strong recruiting class. And
Bryan Davis is a big man who I think is going to be very effective for
them."
Graham will sign in the late signing period in April and will have three
years of eligibility remaining.
