Lon Morris pair make decisions

Lon Morris College is located in Jacksonville, TX. The Bearcats finished the season this year at 16-15 under long-time head coach Dale Dotson. The Bearcats recently had two players decide on schools for next fall. Check out this article on JucoJunction to find out who's going where next fall.

"Alonzo Edwards will stay local and attend North Texas University next season and Joel Gierbolini will head off to Long Island University," said Lon Morris assistant coach Rick Dotson.

Edwards started his college career in the Big 12 Conference at the University of Nebraska. Edwards, a power forward, averaged 7.9 ppg and 4 rebounds this season for the Bearcats. Edwards decided on North Texas after receiving interest from South Alabama and Georgia State University this season according to Rick Dotson.

Gierbolini, a native of Puerto Rico, just completed his two year career at the Region 14 school with 636 career points and 517 rebounds for the Bearkats.

"Joel really defined his body better this season and really excels in a nice half court setting style of play," said JucoJunction staff analyst Bret Swanson.

Gierbolini averaged 10.4 ppg and 9.2 rebounds this year while shooting 49% (119-245) from the floor. Gierbolini received interest from Evansville,McNeese State and Murray State this season according to coach Rick Dotson.
